The Department of Meteorology has issued an advisory for warm weather for the Northern, Eastern and North-central provinces and Monaragala and Hambantota districts.
Per the advisory, effective until tomorrow, amber alerts have been issued to 12 districts.Â
The Met Department says the Heat index, the temperature felt on the human body, is likely to increase up to ‘Caution level’ in the said provinces and districts.
The public has been warned that fatigue is possible with prolonged exposure and activity, and that continuing activity could result in heat cramps. (Islandnews)
