A public awareness march organized by the Police Child and Women Abuse Prevention and Investigation Bureau was held on Saturday (19), from Armour Street to Galle Face Green, to promote the 109 hotline for reporting abuse against women and children.
Led by DIG Renuka Jayasundara and ASP Merrill Ranjan, the event saw the participation of around 350 officers from multiple police divisions. The march featured leaflet distribution, exhibitions, street dramas, and a special program at Galle Face to educate the public on abuse prevention and available support services. (NewsWire)
