Two individuals who had arrived in a car and illegally dumped garbage along the Horana–Ingiriya main road have been apprehended and handed over to the Ingiriya Environmental Police.
It is reported that the Environmentally Friendly Team of the Horana Municipal Council acted swiftly, joining forces with local residents to investigate the contents of the garbage bag.
Through the clues found inside, they identified the individuals responsible for dumping the waste.
Later, the same individuals were made to collect and remove the garbage themselves from the location. (Islandnews)
