A 21-year-old resident of Temple Road, Mount Lavinia, was shot dead in the early hours of today (24) while walking along Malani Bulathsinhala Mawatha in the Boralesgamuwa Police Division.
Police said the victim, who had been returning home after a music concert, was shot by a gunman who arrived in a three-wheeler. He later succumbed to his injuries at the Kalubowila Hospital.
Another individual who was with the victim was also injured and is receiving treatment at the same hospital. The motive and weapon used are yet to be identified, while Boralesgamuwa Police have launched further investigations to arrest the suspects.
