The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) has decided to temporarily suspend its islandwide trade union action scheduled to begin tomorrow, following what it described as positive outcomes from a meeting with Health Minister.
The GMOA Executive Committee said it will closely monitor the implementation of agreements reached on issues related to the transfer process of doctors before deciding on future action.
It added that the post-intern vacancy list, which the union claims was published arbitrarily and contains errors, must be corrected. Until a revised list is released, all post-intern doctors have been asked to refrain from applying for vacancies as part of trade union measures. (Islandnews)
