An excise officer and a businessman arrested in connection with a shooting incident near a night club in Thalawathugoda have been remanded until July 30 by the Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court.
The incident occurred around 1 a.m. today (July 19) following an altercation between the two near a night club. Police investigations revealed that the businessman had allegedly pointed a revolver at the excise officer during the dispute. The officer reportedly grabbed the weapon and fired four shots into a nearby wall.
Both suspects were apprehended by a team from the Thalangama Police along with the firearm. (Islandnews)
