Police say the 23-year-old youth killed in the shooting in Kosgoda early this morning is the son of a man operating a turtle conservation centre.
According to the Police, the deceased is a resident of Duwamodara in Kosgoda and had worked as a tour guide.Â
Police investigations reveal he had been shot dead while at his residence by two unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle.Â
The Police say a T-56 firearm had been used to carry out the shooting, while the cause of the murder is yet to be ascertained.
The suspects involved in the incident are yet to be identified. The Kosgoda Police are conducting further investigations. (Islandnews)
