The Cabinet has approved the appointment of R.M. Gamini Senarathne as Commissioner General of Buddhist Affairs.
Senarathne, a special grade officer in the Sri Lanka Administrative Service, currently serves as Secretary to the Provincial Ministry of Agriculture, Agricultural Production Marketing, Livestock and Health, and Fisheries Activities of the North Central Provincial Council.
He will replace the acting Commissioner General, Kasun Wellahewa, who has been holding the position in addition to his duties as Additional Commissioner General of the Department of Buddhist Affairs. (Islandnews)
