A number of Sri Lankan banks have urged customers to be vigilant against fraudulent websites that mimic official banking portals to steal personal and financial information.
According to notices issued this week, scammers are circulating links through emails and text messages, directing users to fake websites with altered spellings or unusual characters.
Customers have been advised to avoid clicking on such links and instead type official web addresses directly into their browsers.
The warnings stress that individuals should carefully verify URLs before entering sensitive details such as login credentials and report any suspicious activity immediately. (Islandnews)
