The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) has announced that a public hearing will be held tomorrow (05 Aug) regarding the islandwide power failure that occurred on February 9, 2025.
The hearing, organized under Section 18 of the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka Act No. 35 of 2002, will take place from 8.30 am to 6.00 pm at the BMICH in Colombo 07.
According to the PUCSL, this follows an earlier notice issued on May 22, 2025.
The objective of the hearing is to review the circumstances that led to the nationwide power outage and assess responsibilities and possible preventive measures.
Members of the public and stakeholders have been invited to attend or submit observations.
