Colombo Magistrate today ordered the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to initiate probes against individuals who have made statements deemed insulting to the judiciary, directing that legal action be pursued under the law relating to contempt of court.
The Magistrate also instructed the CID to immediately investigate persons who recorded videos within court premises without official permission.
Additional Solicitor General Dileepa Peiris told court that he had already instructed the CID to examine a YouTuber who had made public remarks connected to the case in question. (Islandnews)
