Rs. 50 Mn worth of cannabis recovered from Wattala rented house

Two suspects have been arrested for the possession of nearly 300 kilos of cannabis, worth over Rs. 50 million, in Wattala.

According to the Police, the suspects were arrested during a raid conducted by the Police Narcotics Bureau last night, based on a tip-off. 

The stock of cannabis was found inside a room of a rented house in the Bangalawatte area in Wattala.

The arrested suspects are residents of Grandpass, aged 43 and 49 years.

The suspects are to be produced before the Welisara Magistrate’s Court. The Police Narcotics Bureau is conducting further investigations. (Islandnews)
