An Assistant Manager of the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Agency (SLFEA) has been detained over an allegation of soliciting bribes amounting to Rs. 1,050,000.
Deputy Foreign Minister Arun Hemachandra said, the officer of the SLFEA, a subsidiary of the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE), was detained by the Investigation Division of the SLBFE.Â
Commenting on the incident, he further said that this Government maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy towards corruption and will ensure full cooperation with the authorities to carry out a transparent investigation and protect public trust. (Islandnews)
