Blocks 1 and 2 of Yala National Park will remain closed to tourists from September 14 to October 15, 2026, as authorities respond to severe drought conditions. The closure is intended to reduce disturbances to wildlife facing shortages of food and water. Wildlife officers are working to support affected animals by supplying water to ponds across the park.
