Joheirry Mola of the Dominican Republic has been crowned Miss World 2026, becoming the second woman from the country to win the prestigious international beauty pageant.
The 24-year-old educator, journalist and model won the title at the 73rd Miss World final, held on September 5 in Nha Trang, Vietnam. She succeeds Thailand’s Opal Suchata Chuangsri, who held the title for the previous year.
Mola, who holds a degree in Business Management and Administration, is also a teacher and community advocate. Through her initiative “Voices of Tomorrow,” she works to expand access to English-language education for children and young people in vulnerable communities.
Spain’s Elisabeth Reynés was named first runner-up, while Malaysia’s Taanusiya Chetty finished as second runner-up. The competition featured 111 contestants from around the world.
Mola’s victory marks the second Miss World crown for the Dominican Republic, 44 years after Mariasela Álvarez became the country’s first winner in 1982.
