Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya Meets IMF Delegation to Discuss Sri Lanka’s Economic Reform Progress

Sri Lanka’s economic reform programme and the next phase of its recovery were key topics during a meeting between Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya and an IMF delegation led by Mission Chief Evan Papageorgiou. The discussion reviewed progress under the IMF-supported programme and the challenges facing the economy amid changing external conditions. The Prime Minister highlighted the government’s focus on preserving stability while working towards longer-term economic growth. Proposed changes to anti-corruption legislation, including the handling and disclosure of asset declaration information, were also raised during the meeting.
