England produced another dominant performance in Cardiff, defeating Sri Lanka by six wickets in the second T20 international and securing the series with one match still to play.
Sri Lanka posted 145/9 from 20 overs after making a strong start with the bat. Pathum Nissanka top-scored with 37 off 21 balls, but Liam Dawson’s three wickets and Jamie Overton’s two wickets helped England restrict Sri Lanka’s scoring in the middle and final overs.
England then chased down the target in just 12.1 overs, finishing on 146/4. Tom Banton led the chase with an unbeaten 52 off 24 balls, including four sixes. Jos Buttler contributed 30, while Harry Brook smashed 23 from just eight deliveries before being caught.
The result gives England a 2–0 lead in the three-match T20 series. The final T20 will be played at Old Trafford on Saturday, before the teams move on to a three-match ODI series.
