Most Venerable Keppetiyagoda Sirivimala Thera’s Final Rites Held in Gatambe

The final rites of Most Venerable Keppetiyagoda Sirivimala Thera, Anunayake of the Sri Lanka Ramanya Maha Nikaya, were held with State patronage at the Gatambe Municipal Grounds on October 21, 2026. Thousands gathered to pay their last respects to the revered Buddhist prelate, whose lifelong service to the Buddhist Sasana, religious harmony and the preservation of archaeological heritage left a lasting contribution to Sri Lanka. Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya and other distinguished guests attended the funeral ceremony.
