Final Vote on 22nd Constitutional Amendment Bill Today

Parliament is set to hold the final vote on the 22nd Amendment to the Constitution Bill today (25), following the conclusion of the second-reading debate. The vote is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. The Supreme Court has determined that the proposed amendment does not require approval through a referendum and can proceed with the required special majority in Parliament. The Bill mainly proposes changes to the retirement ages of judges of the Supreme Court and Court of Appeal.
