A 45-year-old man from Minuwangoda has been arrested by the Western Province South Crimes Division for allegedly aiding the preparation of forged documents and a fake passport to help the main suspect wanted in connection with the Akuregoda double murder travel overseas.
The double murder occurred on February 13, 2026, in the Akuregoda area of Thalangama, where a lawyer and his wife were shot dead. Police said the arrested man allegedly provided his fingerprints to facilitate the preparation of the fake passport. Further investigations are ongoing.
